Hong Kong VPS with 9929 routing — best latency from China for dev environments.

Mon experience

ZgoCloud is my main development machine. The deciding factor is simple: 9929 return routing means low latency from China, which makes it actually usable as a daily dev environment.

At $40/quarter (~$960/year) for 4 cores, 6GB RAM, and 100GB SSD in Hong Kong, it's significantly more expensive than RackNerd. But for a machine you SSH into daily, latency matters more than specs. The difference between 30ms and 200ms is the difference between "feels local" and "constantly waiting."

I've installed a full graphical environment with Chrome, VS Code, and other dev tools. It runs smoothly. The first month had some stability issues, but it's been solid since then.

If you're a developer in China and need a remote dev machine, ZgoCloud's 9929 routing is the key advantage. For pure deployment where latency doesn't matter, RackNerd gives better value.
